Sign up for a free trial to see all it has to offer! "Ok Jaanu" is a 2016 Indian drama romance film directed by Shoojit Sircar and produced by Anurag Kashyap and Siddharth Roy Kapur. The film stars Shahid Kapoor in his first Hindi-language role, Alia Bhatt in her Bollywood debut and Amruta Subhash in her Bollywood debut. Inspired by real-life events, the film follows a Kashmiri migrant labourer who falls in love with a woman from his native village. The cinematography is handled by Abhishek Kapoor and the film is edited by T R Ninu. The soundtrack for "Ok Jaanu" is composed by Pritam, with lyrics done by Kausar Munir, Shabbir Ahmed, Alka Yagnik and Amitabh Bhattacharya. Principal photography began in Mumbai on 22 July 2015.The film's title track "Ok Jaanu" was composed by Pritam and lyrics penned by both Kausar Munir and Shabbir Ahmed. The song was originally sung by Arijit Singh, with a rap interlude by Badshah. The female version of the track was sung by Alka Yagnik, while the male version was sung by Sonu Nigam. However, both versions were scrapped from the final cut of the film and only Badshah's version is featured in the film. On 16 February 2016, a romantic number titled "Kabira" from the soundtrack composed by Pritam was released on YouTube via Zee Music Company's official channel.
