If not, how did you learn about these technologies? Pre-existing knowledge. I thought it would be a cool idea to create a short film using only animation software that I've been using for over ten years now. I then contacted a bunch of people I knew in the industry and asked them to participate in my film, and they did! My friends still continue to help me out with this project. It's great to have such an open community that is into all the same kind of stuff I am. I've always wanted to be part of something like that professionally. How many animators were involved? About how long did it take to shoot the animation? The cast list is very long! It took about one year, but it really ramped up during the last few weeks before the film was released. I have been working on the film from the moment I had the idea back in December 2011, but I really got things going at the start of 2012. What kind of a time commitment does it take for you? It's a full-time job! What’s your experience with writing and directing short films? What lessons did you learn from directing your first short film? I've been directing music videos, commercials and other forms of animation for over 10 years. I've been studying film ever since I was a kid, so it's never been anything foreign to me. I learned that what really makes a difference is how much effort you put into something. Of course you can always work harder, but if you put in about 80% in the beginning, it's not going to go anywhere. What are your plans for future episodes? Are there any major changes you plan to make when you shoot the 2nd episode? I plan on shooting one to three episodes a year. I'm bringing in even more talent for future episodes! I would also like to take the show on the road and include local talent. Other than that, I'd love to keep doing more episodes, and I'm sure the show will evolve with me.Where can people watch Talent Not Included? Talent Not Included is currently available for download on the Talent Not Included website TalentNotIncluded.com , as well as on selected video sites. What advice do you have for aspiring animators? Learn every aspect of the computer animation process. Be good at modeling, rigging, character design/development, texturing (look up "matcap"), etc. Also learn all kinds of cool software packages like Maya and Cinema4D. Don't limit yourself to one company's stuff unless you really love it (which is fine too). cfa1e77820
